Who is Andrew Sempere?
Dr. Andrew Sempere is an artist and researcher who specializes in creative explorations of the impact of new technologies, most recently through his work on Digital Scenography in a theatre context. His interests are in the psychology of play, performance and the role that computational technologies serve in constructing and mediating identity and narrative.
Andrew was one of the founding researchers of the SINLAB program, a unique experimental laboratory situated at the intersection of Performing Arts, Architecture, Science, Engineering and Philosophy. Prior to moving to Switzerland, Andrew was a Design Researcher at the IBM Research Center for Social Software. Andrew holds a PhD from École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne, Bachelors of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a Masters of Science from the MIT Media Lab.
